My Approach
I use an integrative approach to therapy using a variety of techniques including:
- Psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Person-centred
- Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness

I like to provide a variety of different approaches to help you better understand yourself.
Going to counselling can feel scary but also like a breath of fresh air. It can sometimes feel difficult to let go of the beliefs and behaviours that are detrimental – as they are familiar and it can feel daunting to let go of what is known. However, can you imagine how much better your life could be if you felt free from the weight of carrying around such harmful thoughts and behaviours? Let’s work together so you can find a way to live more freely!
I have experience working with:
- Relationship issues
- Stress
- Life transitions
- Family dynamics
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Self harm
- Anger
- Suicide and suicidal thoughts
- Trauma
- Sexual trauma
Our mental health is so important, it affects not just our mind but our bodies. Our emotions, our relationships with others and yourself. It can feel overwhelming to choose to help yourself, but you are not alone. I can help you move forward with compassion for yourself and your experiences.
Before counselling my head felt like a jumble. Having counselling has been like unravelling a knotted ball of string.
It takes time and some knots are easier to unravel than others but it’s worth it.

Counselling can be really painful. You open your self up and really look at yourself. You have to really trust your therapist.
I am so thankful to have Mim as my counsellor. She believes in me and challenges me and helps me to see things in a new way. It’s refreshing and has been so rewarding.

Counselling helped me to realise the negative spiral of beliefs and behaviours I had got myself into. I felt trapped and that ‘this is just my life’.
Mim helped me to see why I was holding onto these beliefs and then helped me to address this. I have learnt new tools to help to stop me spiralling and this has helped me grow in confidence too. I now believe I deserve better and should be treated with dignity and respect.
That’s a big deal for me and it’s helping me move forward in my life with a positive attitude.
